COIL HANDLING SYSTEM
ASC is proud to offer our latest revolutionary integrated Coil Handling solution for narrow Shell Press Systems.

A typical Coil Handling System includes a Downender, Coil Car, and Uncoiler. ASC’s innovative integrated system eliminates the Coil Car completely.
​
The combination of a Single Arm Uncoiler and Downender with hydraulic Lift reduces the footprint of the Coil Handling Equipment while maintaining high productivity.
DESCRIPTION
ASC's Downender rotates the coil 90 degrees, and then raises the coil to the correct elevation via two (2) heavy-duty industrial cylinders.
Multiple coils up to a total coil weight of 20,000 lbs (9 metric tonnes) can be loaded onto one pallet and safely downended.
The Single Arm Uncoiler translates over to the Downender and loads a downended coil onto the mandrel. The Single Arm Uncoiler translates back to the correct position to feed the coil into the press.

The Single Arm Uncoiler can handle individual coils up to 10,000 lbs (4.5 metric tonnes) maximum coil weight.
ASC’s integrated coil handling system utilizes the latest state-of-the-art Laser Smartloop control system. This system, proprietary to ASC coil handling equipment, monitors and maintains the correct mandrel speed throughout all coil diameters and press speeds.

In addition customers can add an optional Coil Weighing System with remote Digital Read-Out (DRO) display.

All design and construction complies with NEC, NFPA, CE and OSHA standards. All rotating members and nip points are fully guarded to OSHA and CE standards. CE and OSHA approved warning and safety signs are provided.
