Advanced Portability
This advanced portable system is designed for "in-plant" or "in the field" use. Completely self-contained and hydraulically powered, the ASC Portable Hydraulic Shear cuts flat or profiled metal sheets and is particularly well suited for cutting metal building panels.

The heavy cast ram rides upon two large diameter, chrome-plated guideposts and is actuated by a double acting hydraulic cylinder.

A self-contained hydraulic power unit utilizing a self-priming, fixed displacement rotary gear pump supplies pressure to the hydraulic cylinder for stroking the shear. A preset, tamper-proof relief valve provides constant pressure at design ratings.

Heavy-duty construction and components ensure long, productive equipment life. The modular design offers quick access to components and easy, trouble-free maintenance. The shear is set up with cutting edge indexed blades, so no shimming, adjusting or clearance set-up is required. This facilitates ease of multiple blade changes. Solid state controls are compactly mounted at the right end of the shear for ease of operation, and a timed logic sequence circuit provides an effective, safe "deadman" control for the foot switch.

The remote foot switch includes an "instant retract" feature when the switch is released. The jogging pushbuttons allow ram positioning at any location in the stroke and the foot switch automatically returns the ram to a pre-adjusted height upon release.

Because the ASC Portable Hydraulic Shear is designed for use under a variety of situations, both "in-plant" and "in the field", extra care was taken to make it one of the safest machines of its kind to operate. It is fully guarded on all sides. Guards meet or exceed OSHA safety guidelines.
